THE BUSH/PERRY “TEXAS LEADERSHIP TEAM ’98" POSTER was created to enhance the perception that Texas Lt. Governor candidate Rick Perry was the official running mate of the immensely popular Governor George W. Bush – in the same way that a President and Vice-President run together as a single ticket. These posters were distributed at campaign events across the state and quickly became the most sought-after memorabilia of the campaign season.

Because the timeline was short and an appropriate portrait of Governor Bush with Mr. Perry did not exist, individual photos of the two candidates were digitally color matched and merged for use on the poster. Mr. Perry’s right shoulder (cropped out of the original photo) had to be rebuilt to overlap Governor Bush. And because Mr. Perry’s photo was a snapshot with uncorrectable “red eye,” we had to replace his eyes with recolored clones from Mr. Bush.
